This pack got better as it went on. The sleep experiment game seemed like it could do some cool stuff and show me a good time. Instead, it had a lot of really mediocre puzzles and just generally was uninteresting. Got hit with the ol "low quality textures make a puzzle impossible because they make text blurry" bit that happens in a lot of specifically horror games. After that got hit with a standard find a 3 digit code for a padlock puzzle, but there were no relevant documents, the clocks and whotnot had too many numbers, like more than 3, it was a whole mess, just poorly designed puzzles and no real horror.

The inquisitor seemed like it was trying to be like the witcher 2 or something. Just feels like an ambitious game from like 15 years ago that got sent to the future on accident. It's also based on a Polish series of novels so that's a big hmmmm from me. The concept is neat enough with it being alternate history/mythology of what if christ on the cross just decided nah and broke off of the cross at the critical moment and catholicism ended up based on like revenge and fire. The actual gameplay though of this game is super lame in contrast to every lore cutscene. Lot of QTE's, very railroaded gameplay in what seems to be a town you should be able to freely move about, like this game came straight from 2008, it just needs a turret section. Lore cutscene, we all get hype, normal gameplay, we're waiting for more lore cutscenes.

Octopus blues has sat on my wishlist for a few years collecting dust. Finally a demo surfaces and I expect an rpg, but instead I am greeted with like a sort of mystery game. Technically it's an rpg, but more in the way disco elysium is rather than like chrono trigger is. No combat, but plenty of conversations and cool little bits were had. I enjoyed it, it's staying on my wishlist. After playing the demo though, my hype is at about medium. I'll be glad to play it, but I'm not overly excited for it. This is also tempered by the fact that another longstanding rpg on my wishlist, knuckle sandwich, came out and ended up kinda mid. That was a fun game, just not a great one.
