janked up games 1 - (teddyras)
4It's been harder to find shorter janky games that aren't a) horror games, b) boring; so I'm surprised it took me this long to make a vod of a group of them. Usually when I play non-horror jank, it lasts long enough to be its own vod, but here we got a bunch of them. I used to be able to like alternate between horror game sundays and non-horror game sundays, but idk what happened, less devs taking weird risks I guess, more just copying games they like, idk.
Anywhoser, psycho baseball is a really cool little game. I enjoy these challenge baseball type games on occasion; I want to get my ass exploded by winnie the pooh characters throwin hot fire on the mound. Unfortunately it seems this game was abandoned by the devs as far as everyone can tell. It's supposed to be in early access, but hasn't received updates since february. Also there's no social media or a dev website listed, so full radio silence. Also the publisher named themselves "giant scam industries" so that does not instill confidence lol. The game as it stands has enough content in it and presents enough difficulty that you can have fun for a few hours with all 5 bosses/pitchers. The roguelike elements also add some variety, although quickly you can realize which powerups are good and which ones aren't. There's also the skill component to be able to heal without paying for it by hitting balls perfectly. It's fun.
Beast blasters manages to be both funny and cringe at the same time. By all means the jokes and whatnot suck, but they suck so much they're funny still? it's weird. They make this little gremlin you have to fight so frickin fast too that it puts a mile on my face. Until I have to actually try to kill it, then it causes me grief because that sucker puts up quite a fight. This game has way deeper mechanics than it should, and by that I mean complicated. Had fun, good dollar to spend on steam.
Sally cant sleep disappointed me. It looked like the kind of game you could play a lot and would be fun to get really good at. Instead the levels aren't that interesting and the movement mechanics are kinda weird more than fun. And the way the game is set up, idk if there's an ending or a way to beat it beyond just collecting and doing a bunch of random things in the game world. For having a monkey button and a funny sound button, this game should have done a lot better. Oh yeah, fishgun wasn't that great either, not much to say except, it also looked cool, then disappointed me when I played it.
