Let's Play Stellaris some more, where we still have room to expand and history to be made. Yet when looking forward, we must look back to the oldest oral traditions of the Ashen, before they were exiled from their caves and to the frozen surface by the Beast Below. One that tells of lights in the sky, an all consuming darkness, and the Cradle of Life itself.

Maybe it is not all just folk lore.

As per the usual, not everything goes according to plan.

This series of Stellaris is a full play through at 1080p 60fps, starting with the .9 pre-release version of the game and transitioning into 1.0.1. The Ashen Collective is a Fanatically Spiritual yet Collectivist Theocratic Oligarchy. Everyone knows who the big boss is beneath the home world. Those who dare to defy him shall know eternal torment.

The pre-release version was provided to me by Paradox Interactive after I contacted them directly (and after I had pre-ordered the game myself). This Let's Play series is to be taken as sharing enjoyment of the game with all of you, and not as a review and not as paid, solicited content as directed by the game's publisher.

What is Stellaris: a grand strategy game with 4x elements set in Space developed by Paradox Development Studio and Paradox Interactive. Set for the stars with your newly minted FTL drive and explore a very crowded galaxy. The game truly starts to shine once borders are established and intrigue between space empires begins. Playing a lot more like Europa Universalis IV, you are tasked with managing your empire, maintaining the happiness of diverse populations over your may different planets, researching key technologies along the way, and not pissing off various fallen empires and succumbing to inevitable space disasters. Because the galaxy is dangerous. And not just because of friendship.
