CHAPTERS/TIMESTAMPS/QUOTES:
00 Stephen Curry postgame Sacramento on when the wheels fell off: “Our first half was pretty solid, probably the best basketball we’ve played on both sides of the floor. Built up that big lead, had a rough last few possessions in the first half. And I missed the two-for-one, I lost it on a turnover. So that gave them a little bit of a momentum and third quarter, we responded pretty well. Had a couple untimely turnovers to start the momentum run. And then they got sort of fouled 42 times … easy points … starting to blitz me pretty much everywhere, we got some pretty good looks and gave us some room but didn’t go out way and it’s just a make-or-miss league down the stretch where those two turnovers, I had one, Draymond had one. It’s tough. Tough way to go out and all those things put together like we played pretty well. It’s just we ran out of gas.”
25 on what happened on his turnover: “They got the ball in and obviously eight seconds in my head. We didn't have a timeout because we challenged the offensive foul they called on me. So the turnaround, obviously Vezenkov came back to try to trap and we had kind of a flow down the court. I knew I couldn't call a timeout. So just trying to make a read. It was the wrong one. Obviously De’Aaron hits a three and then we had a better kind of reaction to them trapping up-court to get it across and had a lot of miscommunications. So you obviously want those two plays back because you're up, what, three at the time? Could’ve changed the narrative of the game.”
24 on how upset the locker room is with this loss: “…tough pill to swallow for sure. Frustrated and I think we all gotta look ourselves in the mirror and figure out what we individually can do better in those deciding moments of the game, better decisions, better discipline to not foul, all the little things that impacts winning. That’s the only way we’re gonna get out of this little funk where you're playing hard and you have nothing to show for it.
38 on what his take was on the offensive foul where they said he kicked his leg out: “… you got two guys leaving their feet to jump to match you, so there's gonna be a natural movement to turn. He said my leg went too high. And there's obviously a judgment on their part. But anybody who's shot that shot, especially you’re turning, trying to get your shoulder square and you land, you also gotta protect yourself as well. I didn’t think it was exaggerated at all. So the momentum, taking them into me, like I felt like they would protect the shooter a little bit better”
41 on any optimism that they can compete at rtg the level they want to: “Well, we did in the first half tonight. Just keep doing it and finish the job. I think you know there's been a lot of talk about how individuals on our team have played. Klay played amazing and Wiggs was unreal tonight. It was great having Draymond back … I know CP got hurt, GP got hurt… With the way that we're built, it's frustrating...”
08 on pulling Draymond away from the referee during that technical foul sequence: “I ain’t gonna lie. If that was anybody else? … The carrying sign and all that, I was doing the same thing right behind him and they gave him the tech … that was a dumb tech for sure. We all do that, like, ‘Did you see the carry?…”
21 on how much urgency there: “…First 20 games, take stock of where you are. That second 20, you really kind of show what you're about … don't want to be in a position where you're chasing… It's not panic… in December we have another big homestand…”
57 on how the same guys who went championships turn the ball over and not make the plays down the stretch after doing it so many times: “That’s how basketball is, especially in this league with so much talent on … whole narrative of the game changes if you get those two possessions back … I’m not shying away from the accountability on that…”
35 on if he’d like to see Moses Moody out there when he's hot like that: “They’re all tough decisions … closing lineup that has won plenty of games… he's doing his job, he's doing all he can and I think that's gonna pay off for him in the long run.”
