I have never been a fan of reaction content or response content, but in this instance it’s something I’ve been bombarded with for the last four days, so in order to make sure no more of my streams get derailed I wanted to put together a response so I can say “yes, I have some comments over there”

For anyone who doesn’t remember, I stopped making Ashes of Creation content on 3 July 2023. Most people assume that it was because of the copyright issue with Narc, but the truth is that if you go back and watch my freehold video, that was basically the final straw for me.

Steven had already been caught in the Nodes 3 “what’s he talking about” untruth and Margaret had already been caught being disingenuous, coupled with the double standard of toxic behavior standards, and Intrepid being cowards and cancelling my interview with an unsigned email, and finally Roshen and the “we don’t do marketing” attack on my friend Karthos in an open channel, were all the things that told me everything I needed to know about the company.

Now, for anyone who thinks I’m coming to the discussion to insert myself back into Ashes of Creation content creation let me be clear: I’m not.
I’m making this video because I think Narc is the latest casualty in a long line of creators who have made Ashes of Creation the focal point of their content creation careers. To keep the narrative on point, Narc and I are not friends, we aren’t colleagues, we aren’t anything. If Narc was on fire and I had water, I would keep drinking and I’m 100% sure the feeling is mutual.

With that said, back when I was a college student I was exposed to a quote by Evelyn Beatrice Hall: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”

While I think Narc said several things that open him up to civil liability, and he framed the desert thing in a very disingenuous way, many of the things he said are on point and he has the right to say these things in an environment of “Open-development”

As far as Asmongold; as one of the most successful streamers in history, I respect his take on this issue and I’m using his material under Fair Use, which I think is acceptable given that a while back he did the same to my Archeage video.

“FAIR USE”
Copyright Disclaimer under section 107 of the Copyright At 1976, allowance is made for ‘fair use’ for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, education and research.
Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing.

If you are just learning about Ashes of Creation and you have not made your account yet, please consider using this referral link: https://ashesofcreation.com/r/DE3PDNGIRSPVK7Q4 Costs you absolutely nothing to use, but it helps financially support the Paradox Gaming Network so I have money to do things like giveaways for subscription time when Ashes launches.
