"Stimulation Sim" (Demon) by Yoonsr, TamaN & ASonicMen | Geometry Dash 2.11
796TamaN is probably my favorite creator of all time, even after he's been gone for several years at this point. I absoluted adored his simple but interesting approach to the design style, using unique designs and decorations along with good colors, and you can't talk about him without mentioning his extremely fun gameplay. Seeing that Yoonsr did a remake (or well, "remake") of Endorphin Rush by TamaN and ASonicMen naturally got me excited to try it out.
It doesn't disappoint in my opinion. Rather, it doesn't disappoint as a "remake" of a TamaN level. The reason I put that in quotation marks is because not much has actually been remade. This is more of a compilation of past TamaN works. Yoonsr's intentions are explained well if you use the first trigger orb in the level, which also credits every level he took assets from. I appreciate the honesty there. If you're a fan of TamaN like me, you'll certainly notice a ton of references to his previous levels, and even some to his unreleased 2.1 work. I'm so sad we'll probably never get to see that finished because it definitely looked like a banger.
Endorphin Rush is probably one of my least favorite TamaN levels, but I have to say that it's probably due to ASonicMen's parts, which had very clashing colors. These parts are improved a lot here by tweaking the colors and adding assets from other TamaN levels to fill up spaces. Filling up space has been throughout the whole level, which does make this a lot more detailed and perhaps a bit cluttered at times compared to TamaN's levels, but I still think it works out considering where they're from. It still feels much like a TamaN level, and works well as a homage to his creations. The gameplay has been tweaked a bit too, but it's still very straight-forward and fun to play.
Now, the main question here is whether this should be rated or not. I'm not sure. On one hand, Yoonsr did take all of these assets without getting permission from the creators (as far as I know, but I'm sure you can't contact TamaN anymore; I've tried). On the other hand, I appreciate the effort Yoonsr put into this, and I can tell that great care has been put into combining everything nicely. It is a good-looking level that plays very well. I would not be opposed to this getting a feature and an Easy Demon rating. It is much like Rebellion by Brian1150 for example, which did get featured, and this handles repurposing much better in my opinion. I'm interested to hear what you think in the comment section.
