Players find themselves in Riga, the capital of Latvia, waking up to a world where societal structures have collapsed, and survival hinges on individual resilience and cunning. The narrative unfolds with the protagonist discovering that the police and military can no longer offer protection and that a solitary ferry to Iceland represents the last hope of escape. In Stories from the Outbreak, you must scavenge for supplies, fight the zombies, and make tough choices that will determine the fate of your crew. With 15+ different enemy types, you must use your survival skills to make it through the zombie-infested world. The game aims to be a story generator, and not all of your team members will survive.
