Both were surprisingly good.

Rift S:

The range of tracking on the Rift S was surprising. You can still reach a dead zone where the 6DOF becomes 3DOF or stops tracking all together as you can see around 1:55. You have to really try to reach behind you to lose tracking. I was really surprised by this. Overall the tracking felt pretty good. A definite upgrade over the standard Rift.

The IPD being software over hardware has been a hot topic. If we believe the ranting of Palmer Lucky this is the end of the world for someone like me with an IPD of 69. The Oculus rep updated the IPD for me. I'm not sure if he was able to set it specifically to 69 or just the max value but what I saw was clear and looked good. I didn't notice any significant blurryness. At least not in my very short demo.

The controllers still feel super tiny and fragile but with the ring on the inside I feel less fear of breaking them against a wall.... Or a camera as the case may be if you're me...

The halo was comfortable for the short duration that I had it on but I'd need much more time with it to really get a feel for the comfort level.

Overall, this seems like a good upgrade.


Stormlands:

Wow... The game looks great. The narration and story telling in the beginning really sets a depressing tone. Right after the tutorial, which takes place in your electric mindscape, you start seeing visions of your past. After you encounter what appears to be a female robot your character appeared to be close with. You then delete all memory of that character. The game seems like it's going to be an upper!

Graphically, the game was beautiful. I'm not sure what the machine specs were but the game ran silky smooth.

The controls were very intuitive and natural though again I didn't get very far.

The demo was far too short but I definitely want more.
