"Stormy Saxophone 2" (King of Fighters '96) LIVE Jazz Cover // J-MUSIC Pocket Band
Our live cover of "Stormy Saxophone 2 (Arashi no Saxophone 2)" from King of Fighters '96, originally composed by Papaya (Masahiko Hataya). This arrangement by Patrick Bartley. Recorded live at Black Cat LES in New York, NY on December 1, 2019.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wow, 2020... FUTURE! Right? Well, at the very least, there are SO many new things projected to look forward to in this new year (or, if you're looking at this video from the future, these things already happened and we were either right or wrong), and we're looking forward to many new additions to the lexicon of music! Speaking of new additions, just a few months ago, we got a new addition to the Smash Brothers lineup from a special game that's been capturing the hearts and hands of fans for years - Terry Bogard from King of Fighters/Fatal Fury! However, another important character from the KoF series, Iori Yagami, has this song as their identifying theme, and it's since become one of the most identifying themes in the entire series! There's also been like... 5 of them, so we can call this "Stormy Saxophone 6", because we add our own twist on it, as well. We hope this one brings some nice memories for those who played it! This was actually another frequently requested cover of ours since we uploaded the first fighting game covers.
Out of ALL the many versions, variants, and spin-offs of the SNK world of fighting games, which KoF/Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting was YOUR favorite to play? Did you discover them in their heyday or later on as ports?
