Strato-Scruffy 2009 - Development Log #14 (Big Boat)
0This was one of the more underdeveloped levels, featuring only a skeleton of a layout and a barely complete boss that I wound up redoing from scratch anyways.
The level isn't too interesting other than being one of the more free roaming ones. This is actually an improvement from before!
The boss on the other hand...it was always meant to be Mega Klaw, but the fight I had planned was a bit too ambitious even for my near 30 year old self. You were supposed to chase him down a long, looping tunnel while dodging his wavy arms. I decided to scrap this fight and redo it completely, which might actually be the only boss in the game where I'll need to do that at all. I decided to lean into the heavy shmup inspiration this game had and do a Gradius Tetran style fight. Simple but effective.
