Stream: Wallace and Gromit Adventures (J2ME)
Having seen the new Wallace and Gromit film, I wanted to check out one of their licenced games, and decided on this 2009 game for mobile phones. Considering the name and timing, I assume it was a companion of sorts to Telltale's Grand Adventures point-and-click adventure. Unlike that game, this one is a sidescrolling puzzle platformer that brings in elements of their previous shorts for bosses and locations, and has you using Wallace's knack for contraptions to get through the levels. Although I had some bother with the controls (unavoidable on this kind of phone game), I found this a quality game and had a good time with it, completing all the stages.
Afterwards I took a quick spin with two other Aardman mobile games, a Curse of the Were-rabbit tie-in in the form of a top-down box-pusher (it crashed after the first level), and an isometric puzzler based on their lesser known TV series Rex the Runt.
