Street Fighter 2 WW [MS-DOS] - play as Balrog
This is a demonstration of Balrog in the PC/MS-DOS version of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. Read on for more information...
Balrog is the 1st of 4 bosses in this game, and he is an unplayable character.
As Balrog is not intended to be controlled by a human player, he will most likely freeze the game. This is because the game operates in a way that the basic moves of the character you control is somewhat randomised, meaning that you will sometimes get different moves if you press the same button repeatedly. Also, the likelihood of him freezing the game seems to be random - sometimes you can perform a lot of moves with him and sometimes you cannot, which leads to the game freezing. I imagine this would be because the game data has nowhere to point to when a human player tries to perform his basic moves.
The CPU Balrog however can perform more moves than the player can... which isn't surprising really.
As you can see in this video, I froze the game a few times, meaning I had to reload the game. You honestly cannot prevent it from messing up if you want to do as much as you can.
===== About MS-DOS SF2 =====
This version of the game is very poor, and doesn't play anything like the arcade version of the game... in fact, it plays like a completely different game altogether. The graphics however are good as they are taken straight from the arcade version, but they're animated poorly; have a bad collision detection and a complete lack of hit pause. The backgrounds from what I remember do not have any animation in the at all, and the music consists of a few MIDI themes, which for the most part the melodies for them isn't composed correctly either.
