Street Fighter 2 WW [Saturn] - play as bosses (Capcom Generation 5)
This is a demonstration of selecting the bosses in SF2:WW in the Saturn version of Capcom Generation 5. Read on below for more information...
This is a demonstration of selecting and playing as the boss characters Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison in the game Street Fighter 2: World Warrior, contained in Capcom Generation 5. The 4 bosses in World Warrior are unplayable characters.
This video demonstrates what happens should you use alternative methods to select them in SF2WW. The results are somewhat interesting and disappointing to say the least.
The interesting thing is that the game doesn't freeze/lock when playing as them... but the disappointment comes from the fact that you cannot perform any basics or specials with them whatsoever. The 6 buttons do absolutely nothing. You can only move around, jump and block with them.
This video demonstrates all kinds of stuff with them - such as how they appear on the character select screens, how they operate in-fight and how they appear on the Continue screen. Some "out-of-bounds" characters are also shown as well.
===== Additional Information =====
---- On the Versus character select screen, once you highlight a boss you can use Left and Right to scroll through them in order.
---- On the Versus character select screen, the bosses' portraits are oversized. This is because they are not meant to be selected in this mode.
---- On the Versus character select screen, the bosses' cursor positions/slots are positioned in scattered areas. You cannot see Balrog's and Sagat's cursor positions, but you can see Vega's and M.Bison's. Both are in odd areas as you can see in the video.
---- On the Arcade character select screen, you need to confirm selection first to get the bosses' portraits to show up.
---- As mentioned earlier, apart from moving, jumping and blocking you cannot do anything else with the bosses in-fight. This is due to the Human flag having no set programmed moves for them.
---- They appear and operate flawlessly on the Continue screen, which was surprising. They even have the hints text below too!
---- On the Arcade character select screen, the bosses' portraits appear in their exact positions as they do in Champion Edition and Hyper Fighting. This is expected anyway because they can normally appear on the Training Mode character select screen as selectable CPU opponents.
---- Vega (claw) can only block low. This is because his 'standing block' is normally his backflip when the CPU controls him.
---- On the Versus character select screen, it seems Capcom used the wrong 2P cursor for this game... the cursor is the CE and HF one.
---- Unrelated, but listen to Dhalsim's "Yoga Fire" voice in this version of the game. When he says "Fire" it's a different lower tone than the usual.
