Street Fighter EX2 Plus - Skeletons in the Crawlspace - MCIHAD
We’re back once again with the illustrious Madcucks, playing yet another entry in the many-faced Street Fighter series, for some reason. The bastard child EX Plus gets a fitting showcase, replete with stutter loop-like latency issues and several full-on software failures, all to the nonplussed jabbering of our loquacious trio and the visiting Assimilant. In a wanton display of spectrum-spanning self indulgence, we get off into the weeds talking about trains for a while. Several more baseless accusations of cultural appropriation are levied at the makers of Street Fighter, and Madcucks himself discovers a hitherto untapped well of potential with an obscure yet gender-vague roller skate enthusiast whose actual, canonical name seems to be ‘Area.’
Area is a common euphemism for one’s privates.
Anyhoo, this episode brings to a close Trouble Planet’s all too brief dalliance with the comic genius of Madcucks, whose rise to power was summarily termed by a hitherto oblivious Nick to be akin to “The Retarded Mr. Ripley.” Hopefully not our last crossing of paths, and hopefully too this esoteric vein of comedy was not beyond the event horizon of enjoyment to our usual viewers, the majority of which are fully justified in responding to the esoteric backstory of this challenge with speechless bemusement. Just know that you are bearing witness to one of the universe’s funny little butterfly effect moments, and weep a little. We’ve all earned it.

Street Fighter EX2 is a 2.5D fighting game co-produced by Capcom and Arika originally released in 1998 as an arcade game for the Sony ZN-2 hardware. It is a sequel to Street Fighter EX and the second main game in the EX series. A updated version of the game titled Street Fighter EX2 Plus was released in 1999 for the arcades as well and subsequently ported to the PlayStation. It was followed by Street Fighter EX3.
The original version of Street Fighter EX2 retains all the features from the previous game, Street Fighter EX Plus, including original features such as "Guard Breaks" (unique moves which cannot be blocked by an opponent) and "Super Canceling" (the ability to cancel a Super Combo into another Super Combo).
The primary new feature in the game are "Excel Combos", ("excel" being abbreviation for "extra cancel"). Much like the "Custom Combos" featured in the Street Fighter Alpha series, Excel Combos allows player to connect a series of basic and special moves for a limited time. During an Excel Combo, the player begins with a basic move and can follow up with a different basic move or follow-up a basic move with a special move, which can be followed by a different special move. However, the player cannot connect any move with the same move, nor can they cancel special moves into basic moves during an Excel Combo.
