Stress testing a Mac is easily possible from the command line by using the "yes" command. This can be a valuable troubleshooting tool for hardware issues, letting you quickly determine things like CPU temperature under load, if fans are functioning properly, how quickly battery drains, and much more. Outside of troubleshooting, there isn't much reason to run the "yes" command since it causes such immense strain on the computer.
