Strider 2: Part 5: Mission 05 (Final Bosses & Ending)
After completing the first four Missions of this game, Hiryu is invited by Grandmaster Meio himself to try and hunt him down in his space base and the 5th and final mission: The Third Moon.
----------
For Scene 1: The spaceport of the Third Moon, every time you jump here, your gravity reverses, making Hiryu stand against the ceiling, or jump again to stand on the ground again.
You must first defeat Solo in a rematch before you can advance through this Scene with your gravity-shifting abilities. The Scene complete after stepping inside of a lab.
----------
For Scene 2, Hiryu must fight his way through the new bio development section. This time, the gravity shifts periodically, shown with two alarms and the screen flashing red.
Regardless of your gravity, you're gonna make head upwards towards the next scene.
----------
In Scene 3, Hityu has a rematch against the Gravity Core. This kills any further gravity-shifting shenanigans you could've had.
----------
In Scene 4, Hiryu must face off against... another Strider: Hein!
Alongside close-range strikes, Hein tosses his weapon at you for his basic attack, but he also has a laser blast.
I eventually put him in a semi-lock as he will also try to infinite jump back on the ride. Eventually, I have Hiryu finish off this traitorous Strider rival.
----------
In Scene 5, Hiryu finally reaches Third Moon's control section, where he can finally battle against the mastermind behind Earth's peril: Grandmaster Meio!
The Grandmaster, like in the first game, will often fly and teleport around, making him a bit of a hassle to reach him while avoiding his attacks and summons. Typically, you can only strike him directly twice before he teleports.
Eventually, I take him down! But then...
There's still one more Scene...
----------
In Scene 6, the final Scene of this stage AND the entire game, in the throne room, Strider must now destroy Meio's final monster: Caduceus!
Its only weakspot is its head, and you're gonna have to literally climb up to it.
This creature is made up of two pairs of three different monsters from the previous fight, allowing it access to fireballs, lightning strikes, homing attacks, death rings, and even a sky-high pillar attack.
Some of these parts can be damaged enough to stun them, but this only lasts for moment. Just for the head, finish this thing once and for all, and beat the game!
----------
Grandmaster Meio, still weakened from his battle against Strider Hiryu, was now cornered against him following the defeat of Caduceus.
And then he realized... what this Strider Hiryu the exact same one that felled him nearly 2000 year ago? A descendant?
In any case, this current Hiryu finally finished the Grandmaster off, this saving the world, and completing his mission...
----------
Thanks for watching, but there's more to the game than just this.
Beating it for the first time unlocks the ability to play through it all as Strider Hien!
On top of that, there's a bonus Mission that can be played, but only after you beat the PS1 version of Strider 1 that was packaged with this game, and then make a cleared save on the same Memory Card.
My main playthrough with this game is over, but I may return to cover more of these goodies. Stay tuned for whenever that happens!
