Strider, A Retrospective
When it comes to arcade ports on the Megadrive then none come much better than this classic. Strider was this amazing example of how the quality control team at Sega could get things right as early test runs of the game demanded more memory be used to do the game justice.
An early CPS-1 release by Capcom, Strider was a massive undertaking by Sega to port across to the megadrive, question is though did they get it right? Did the manage to do an accurate port of the amazing visuals? Did all of the excellent sound, and outstanding sampled speech make it onto the 8-Mbit cart? Was the same silky smooth arcade gameplay faithfully reproduced for the home ports?
Sit back grab a coffee and relax as I play an outstanding game from the early days of the Megadrive, Strider Hiryu.. or Strider as it was known in the west.
