My fellow townspeople,
with 2020, a year like no other comes to its end. But some things never change, and neither will our tradition of celebrating Noël with a new edition of our very own Meirion‘s annual Christmas Calendar!
And I dare say: this one is also unlike any other that our local mastermind of mechanic arts has created so far. But in all fairness … he had help, because noone less than our local „Queen of Logicals“ Onya Kruger herself inspired what will become your daily delight for the coming weeks … yes, you’ve guessed it by now, haven’t you? And you’re right: for the first time ever, ONYONs are coming to Noël! 24 of them have been developed by Onya and handcrafted by Meirion for every single day of December until Christmas Eve, and there is also a 25th Bonus ONYON that will only unlock if you solved all of the others.
For those of you who never encountered an ONYON before, here is a short introduction to Onya Kruger’s notorious creation: an ONYON is a logical puzzle. You task as a contender is to correctly place a variety of circular puzzle chips called „tesserae“ into their target slots. To enable you to fulfill this task, you will be provided with a very limited, but absolutely sufficient number of visual clues — some of them speak for themselves, others might require a little more exploration and interpretation of yours in order to understand their message. But most of all: make sure to look closely, for some of these clues might contain much more information than you notice at first glance! There is only one right solution to every ONYON, but fear not: other than avid subscribers of the weekly „Sunday Onyon“ are used to, the ONYONs created for the Christmas Calendar have unlimited tries and no pressure attached whatsoever.
One remark from Meirion, though: after some of you obviously had a hard time resisting the urge to cheat and open doors early in previous years (who wouldn't have!), he put a safety measure in place: not all Onyons are included right away, but will come in updates which are, of course, free of charge. So whenever an Onyon refuses to open, even though time has come for it to do so, just pop in over here and check for an update.
As always, all proceedings (minus a handling fee) will go to the artists involved, so make sure to support your local geniuses by buying in and spreading the word!
