Styx: Master of Shadows - PS4 - Introduction - Reminiscences (Blind, Hard Difficulty)
The introduction mission of Styx: Master of Shadows played blind on hard difficulty.
This stealth action adventure came out in 2014, you play goblin Styx as he goes on various infiltration missions in a huge structure called the Tower of Akenash. The missions take place in separate parts of the tower, which are all big, freely explorable areas. Styx has a hideout in the tower which acts as a sort of in-between mission hub.
Gameplay is pure freeform stealth, more or less, there is a rudimentary combat system, but it should only be used as a last resort and on the higher difficulties will almost always lead to death. Styx has plenty of skills and equipment he can upgrade and there are often multiple ways to get from A to B.
The game is designed with replayability in mind, each mission has awards for beating it under certain conditions, e.g. don't trigger alerts, don't kill enemies etc. These become easier to obtain as your skills and familiarity with the levels improve, so you can replay any mission you've already beat, they are accessed from the hideout hub.
This is a blind recording I did natively on PS4 about four years ago, before I got my current capture set up. As it's been so long I don't remember exactly what I did and didn't do in the game. I think I did most of the side quests, got most relic collectibles and earned some insignia awards, but I didn't get all the thief token collectibles. I got 66% of trophies but you won't see them as the PS4 captures don't display them. I'll publish the footage I have anyway, at the very least it will be a full blind playthrough on hard difficulty.
With hindsight I could have probably beat this on the max "goblin" difficulty, but there are no trophies for difficulty and I wasn't in the habit of maxing it out for blind playthroughs at the time. Also this has long load times, which was the reason I didn't end up going for platinum or going for everything I'd missed. They got aggravating as you can die a lot, this is probably one of the tougher stealth games I've played, with quite a lot of trial and error involved. I've spliced out big chunks of loading screen so you don't have to suffer it.
