Do this before you spend a thousand bucks trying to replace every single sensor on your engine. This is not a mechanical failure, it is a software one. Mechanics will not know what to do about this, you need to take your car to a chip-tuning service and have them flash the, as it is called, ''non-gimped'' version of the EJ204 map on it.

This issue is best described as lack of power during a very specific part of your rev range, usually at around 2000-3000 RPM, which develops over time after frequent full-throttle acceleration, and goes away after using an OBD Scanner Tool to reset your ECU or by removing your battery lead for a while.
