3Suikoden (originally titled 幻想水滸伝 Gensō Suikoden in Japan) is a classic role-playing game (RPG) developed by Konami and released for the PlayStation 1 in 1995. The game's title and premise are inspired by the classic Chinese novel Water Margin, known as Suikoden in Japanese.
In the story, players take on the role of a young hero who becomes embroiled in a rebellion against a corrupt empire. The game features a vast cast of characters—108 Stars of Destiny—whom the player can recruit to aid in battle and build their army. Players must manage resources, engage in turn-based combat, and make choices that influence the outcome of the rebellion, all while unraveling the mysteries surrounding a magical artifact known as the "Soul Eater" rune. The combination of strategic gameplay and deep storytelling has made Suikoden a beloved classic in the RPG genre.
