This is the earliest ending you can get in the game. You can opt for it the night before the 3rd war battle (defending Rainwall for the 2nd time) by accepting Lord Barow's offer to separate from the Queendom of Falena, which is about 15-20 hours into the game. Basically what happens is Lord Barows talks the Prince into creating a kingdom aside from Falena. But what happens is that Lord Barows had a secret agreement with the neighboring nation of Armes and backstabs the Prince thus killing him.
