On June 10, 2011 the hotly anticipated summer blockbuster "Super 8" opens in theaters nationwide. After witnessing a mysterious train crash, a group of friends in the summer of 1979 begin noticing strange happenings going around in their small town, and begin to investigate into the creepy phenomenon.

Rotten Tomatoes records an 84% on their Tomatometer while Metacritic scores the picture at 71 out of 100. Lisa Schwarzbaum for Entertainment Weekly says, "Loving, playful, and spectacularly well made, Super 8 is easily the best summer movie of the year -- of many years." Kenneth Turan for the Los Angeles Times says, "This melding of two cinematic sensibilities, though effective at moments, is finally not as exciting or involving as we'd like it to be." Peter Travers for Rolling Stone says, "In Super 8, Abrams makes us care. This movie, a true beauty, will put a spell on you." 

The film is directed by J.J. Abrams, produced by Steven Spielberg, is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 112 minutes.
