Both the Nintendo Switch and one of its launch games, Super Bomberman R, came out on the day of this upload. I actually have Super R myself, but not the Switch, yet. I'll fix that, later.

Did you know that Super Bomberman R is actually the 6th game in the Super Bomberman sub-series of the whole Bomberman franchise? The first 5 were released on the Super Nintendo/Super Famicom many years ago, and to celebrate Super R's release, I wanna go through all of them, starting with the very first one.

So prepare yourselves for my 3rd Bomberman playthrough!
--------------

For the story of this game, it takes place on a rich island called Diamond City, where its own, Carat Diamond, alongside his scientific sidekick, Dr. Mook, plan to take over the Bomberman paradise of Peace Town with an army of bizarre robots.

After having escaped from Diamond's clutches, the recently-reformed Black Bomberman sought refuge with our hero, the White Bomberman, and the two joined forces to stop Diamond and Mook's evil plan!
--------------

In Normal Game, you can go through a 1-Player campaign, though you can also have Player 2 use the Black Bomberman in it, too.

If you play any of the sequels after this game, this game will feel like a beta. For some reason, every single time you start a level, Bomberman gets to move around with a lot of invincibility for a few seconds. This also includes respawning after death, as the level doesn't reset when you die.

The goal is to use your bombs to kill all of the enemies in each level, after doing so, you have to find the magic door that's hiding in one of the level's soft blocks so you can move on to the next level. Make sure that your explosions don't touch the door, or it will spawn more enemies. You're on a time limit, here.

The game starts off at Peace Town, itself, being the setting of Levels 1-1 through 1-2. From 1-3 through 1-5, Bomberman heads east to the nearby Green Village to clear out the monsters there.

Now have some quick notes of the first four levels, themselves:

Level 1-1
- Enemies: 3 Puropens
- Power-Ups: 2 Bomb Ups, Fire Up

Level 1-2
- Enemies: 2 Puropens, 2 Denkyuns
- Power-Ups: Bomb Up, Roller Skates

Level 1-3:
- Enemies: 9 Star Nuts
- Power-Ups: Bomb Up, Fire Up, Bomb Kick

Level 1-4:
- Enemies: 2 Puropens, 2 Denkyuns, 2 Bakudas
- Power-Ups: Invincibility Jacket, Roller Skates

The Roller Skates increase your walking speed by 1, and the Bomb Kick lets you slide bombs in a straight line with a kick. You can even kill enemies by simply kicking a bomb at them before they explode.

Those green Denkyuns are a bit tougher than the Puropens, because they need to be cooked twice before they're done.

Watch out for those Bakuda enemies, the bombs with eyes. When they're floating around and have their eyes, you can kill them with your own bombs. But if they lose their eyes and set themselves on the ground, they'll blow themselves, up. This doesn't kill them, but this also makes them immune to your own bombs for a moment. Be very careful with this if you've exposed the level's magic door, or they could end up spawning more of themselves with it.
