This one is a real pain. Every time you hit it, four chunks of it fly off and can damage you if you don't position yourself well. It will also fly directly at you at set intervals, so move away when the boss is about to do so.
After you deal enough damage, the boss splits into three small bats. Their flight pattern follow some kind of logic but it's mostly random. The safest bet is to position yourself in the left corner and attack from there. Be aware that small bats drop gold pieces after getting hit as well.
