It's been eleven years since a new original 2D Mario game came out, and this one seems to be the most promising yet.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder, initially announced during the Summer 2023 Nintendo Direct, has seen multiple changes between the previous 2D Mario game and this one:

1. Charles Martinet no longer voices Mario (thank you, Charles. You've done well).
2. New powerups and game mechanics expand the replayability of this game.
3. You can now play as Princess Peach, Daisy, and Yoshis.
4. There are Wonder Flowers that change a course's dynamics.

Looking at all of the promotional footage released by Nintendo and the gaming press, I have very high expectations of this game.
