In an utterly unprecedented move, Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach with plans to force her into marriage. Bowser, with his future bride in tow, has begun a worldwide expedition to collect various items for the perfect wedding, leading him to Bonneton of the Cap Kingdom. Gloomy and perpetually covered in fog, the Cap Kingdom is home to eerie type beings that reside inside… hats, two of which are Cappy and Tiara, brother and sister!
Deeming it the perfect crown for his Princess Bride, Bowser has abducted Tiara for Peach to wear on their wedding day, making it two kidnapping felonies in one game! Cappy has sworn revenge and will stop at nothing to rescue her from Bowser’s grasp and Peach’s head.
Mario, not at all pleased with the upcoming Royal Wedding, finds an ally in the equally distraught Cappy. Mario, with all his Bowser-thwarting expertise, and Cappy, who has the ability to possess just about anything, including freaking dinosaurs, set out to save their other halves. With the moon-powered Odyssey that’ll take them anywhere from New Donk City to Shiveria, Mario and Cappy make a formidable team, but they’re in a race against the clock to stop the most famous wedding in the world.
