I start a playthrough on Super Mario RPG, this game is a remake of the SNES game of the same name, except the original game was called Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, this game, the Switch remake, is just called Super Mario RPG.
After Peach is kidnapped by Bowser, Mario heads to Bowser's Keep to take on the Koopa King and rescue the princess, until a large sword comes down and crashes into the castle, sending Mario and the others flying.

As for the rest of the description, I recommend watching the full video before reading past this point of the description

Time to start the game, Peach is kidnapped by Bowser as usual, and in this game, she is referred to as Peach, in the original game, she was called Toadstool, as she was not known as Peach outside of Japan.
You take control of Mario as you enter Bowser's Keep, and when you check the settings, you can even change the music to how it sounded in the original SNES version, and you take on some Terrapins, easy enemies to fight against as they have 10 HP. After getting past a bunch of them, we find Bowser, and fight against him. They are held up by Chaindeliers, types of Chain Chomps that hold up the chandeliers, they were originally known as Kinklinks, you have to attack the chain to get through the fight, Bowser's attack only deals one damage.
After the battle, we go through many scenes and a large sword comes down, destroying the Star Road which shatters into pieces and crashes into Bowser's Keep, and Mario ends up at his house. Mario's Pad has a Storage Box where items are kept, and if you interact with the Mushroom Lamp, you can go to sleep and heal up. Then after leaving the house, Toad shows us the Save Block, where you can save your game, but in this version, you autosave when playing through the game.
Then we head to Bowser's Keep, where the large sword claims that the castle now belongs to the Smithy Gang, and destroys the bridge to prevent Mario from accessing it. Then he heads back, and talk to Toad, and you can get a tutorial on Action Commands, and new to this remake is the Action Gauge, when you perform an Action Command, this fills the gauge, and when it is full, you can perform a Gauge Move which has some good effects.
Mushroom Way is home to Goombas, common enemies with 16 HP, and Paratroopas, which were formerly called Sky Troopas, they are very defensive, but are weak to Mario's Jump. From the chests, you can get coins, and when you save Toad from a Goomba, he gives you a Honey Syrup, this restores FP, or Flower Points. The next area has Spinning Flowers, where Mario can jump higher depending on where he is facing, and you free Toad from a Paratroopa to receive a Flower Tab, which permanently raises FP by 1 when used and refills FP, good to use when you are low on FP. You can get a Pick Me Up, this item revives a defeated ally and restores all of their HP, and the flowers from the chests increase FP while the Mushroom restore HP and FP. The next area has a Lakitu dropping a new enemy called Spikey, not Spiny, they are spiky enemies that are immune to jump attacks, you can use them to get experience if you want.
When you approach the Hammer Bro., time for a boss fight against two of them, they both have 50 HP, and they attack with their hammers, you will want Mario to be at Level 2 to fight them, they have a special move where they throw multiple hammers to deal more damage, and Valor Up increases their stats by 50%, they will use that if one is remaining, use the Jump attack twice to defeat them.
With the Hammer Bros. down, Mario enters the Mushroom Kingdom, and I do like the music for that place, and it was even remixed in Fortune Street, or Boom Street in Europe. The original game was developed by Square Enix, which have done RPG games like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. I like the battle music, as well as the boss theme that played when fighting the Hammer Bros., the original game did have a good soundtrack, and I liked how they improved some of the music from the original to the remake.
