Really neatly composed, rhythmically quite treacherous but fun to play all the same! Featured in New Super Mario Bros U as well as Super Mario Run.
I wanted to do something lighter again, and thought it would be nice to do something recent. And it doesn't come more recent than Super Mario Run, which isn't even released yet!
So, musically it follows the tradition that New Super Mario Bros. set in 2005, which means the main theme is a pastiche of Mario-motifs from the past, mainly the original Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3. On one hand it's cool that the music is so mindful of the past, and on the other hand a bit of a shame that it's a bit stuck there as well... Especially after 4 games with a similair approach.
