Super Metroid: X-Fusion First Playthrough! (Part 5)
4X-Fusion is a Super Metroid Romhack that was in development for a very very long time (over a decade). The dedication to bringing it to life is second to none. Thank you Metaquarius!
The best way to think of this romhack that I have heard or thought of so far is like a re-imagining of Fusion, built from the ground up using Super Metroid as a base, but it looks nothing like Super Metroid. It feels similar to Super Metroid, which is exactly what I have always wanted!
As a child, my favorite part of playing Super Metroid was finding ways to go wherever I wanted, whether the game wanted me to go there yet or not. Things like using bomb jumps to sequence break, or trying to navigate tough areas when I wasn't supposed to yet. Obviously this eventually turned into a love of Speedrunning, but that is just how my brain works. So at many points during this playthrough you may see me suddenly decide I want to try and do something that looks stupid. Trust me when I say, that's what makes it fun for me. :)
