Super Metroid's secret code - The GTCode explained
Hello there! Today's video is very special to me. GoldenChorizoCode, someone very knowledgeable from the Super Metroid speedrunning community who used to upload videos about SM speedruns, had been confirmed to have passed away a few months ago. Because of this, the community came together to honor his memory and prepared a marathon stream running GTCode-related runs, organized by the amazing ShinyZeni (you can see the full stream on his YT channel).
And since GCC was someone very special to me who was my biggest inspiration to start making content, I wanted to honor his memory as well and thus I contributed to his memorial with this video.
The video discusses the uses of the Golden Torizo Code, a leftover debug feature that grants Samus a specific amount of items, and the many different speedrun categories that utilize it.
I hope I was able to honor his memory with this video, and I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did making it.
Cherish those around you and never take them for granted.
