This is Puzzle Bobble debut on the Playstation 2. Unfortunately, compared to any of the PS1 games, this one is a downgrade in almost every sense, especially when it comes to amount of modes and artstyle. At least some of the new gimmicks are cool.
As for what the secret code does, it actually unlocks the two hidden characters from the CPU Battle mode and nothing else. If you wanna play additional levels in the Puzzle mode, you can choose "Classic", since that makes all of the levels completely different, though without any new gimmicks.
