Time for another Online Tourney that focuses on certain items, in this one, as it is called "Fungi Fever", mushroom-based items appear, and there are three different kinds that appear, those being the Super Mushroom, which can make the fighter bigger, the Poison Mushroom, which makes the fighter smaller, and the Ramblin' Evil Mushroom, which can be used to reverse the opponent's controls, so for a mushroom-themed tournament, that can change a battle around.
All characters can be used in this Tourney, and all stages can appear, but for items, the only ones that appear are the Super Mushroom, Poison Mushroom, and Ramblin' Evil Mushroom, so this is the first Online Tourney where the Smash Ball does not appear, even in previous tournaments that was themed around a Smash Bros. game, and the Smash Ball appears as an item despite not existing until Brawl, but Final Smash Meter is turned on, so at least there is one way to use a Final Smash in a tournament where the Smash Ball doesn't appear.
Despite the Smash Wiki, where is the source I tend to use for information on Online Tourney mode, saying that Final Smash Meter is turned off, it is the opposite, the Final Smash Meter is on, and it is the Smash Format with a 2 minute and 30 second timer, and items are set to Medium.
Whenever an Online Tourney that allows every character happens, I pick random to see which character it gives me, and for this one, I got Dark Pit, which isn't a bad choice, as Dark Pit does have his Guardian Orbitars to reflect the Ramblin' Evil Mushroom's spores. I did see that most of the opponents in this one had character variety, so not one was using the same character, everyone was using different ones, in my bracket, my opponents were Shulk, Palutena, and Robin, at least there are no repeating characters, that is the good thing if the entire roster can be selected for this one.
When you participate in this Online Tourney, you will earn a Spirit based on your placement, and for stages, Shadow Moses Island and Pilotwings were the ones that appeared, and those are some good stage choices for this one. I do like Pilotwings as a stage, and Shadow Moses Island is a good one to start off this Online Tourney.
