“L-Lady Palutena, I think I have finally met the human version of me!” Pit said excitedly.
Palutena pinched her chin in thought. “Hmm. I kind of see the similarities between you and whoever this kid is. There has to be a good reason people asked so much for this kid to get into the fray,” she said.
“Bleh. Don’t you dare say people like idiots like Pit,” Viridi commented.
“H-hey, idiots like me, er, people like me are very lovable! That’s why people can’t get enough of me!” Pit argued.
Viridi smirked. “Explain the three Links we have.”
“…I grimace corrected!”
“Okay, knock it off, you three,” Chris said. “The guy that you all think suspiciously resembles Pit is named Sora. He is the main protagonist from Kingdom Hearts.”
“Ooh, right. I actually have heard about that franchise,” Palutena said. “It’s just, you know, I’m not allowed to go into…their territory. For copyright reasons. I heard from using my heavenly eavesdropping skills that his keychain was harder to bring than finally getting Ridley to fit through the door.”
“Tell me about it. I think I remember them having quite a slew of gods. They even have their own Hades,” Viridi said, disgusted.
Chris looked around, wide-eyed, to see if the sky would break down for going that far. “Are…are we allowed to say that much here?” he asked.
“Looks like it,” Palutena said, giggling. “As long as we don’t mention specific voice actors, no legal red tapes can sue us down to our shoes.”
“You have to wonder when we’ll get our own Hercules,” Viridi chimed.
“That’s me!” Pit said. No one else wanted to humor him on that.
“Before this conversation derails to more god talk, I’ll go back to Sora,” Chris said. “He is a normal kid from Destiny Island who has - unwillingly at first - embarked on a transdimensional journey across different universes to save his lost friend Kairi and his wayward friend and rival Riku.”
“Ahh, his Dark Pit.”
“N-no, he’s not… Hmm…” Chris rubbed his chin, but then snapped out. “Anyway, Sora combats the darkness known as the Heartless, which are beings made out of wayward lost hearts consumed by darkness he takes down using his Keyblade, which is the key weapon you’re all seeing.”
“Bwahahahaha!” Viridi laughed. “I know we all wanted something else other than a sword guy, but a KEY guy? Is he looking for his giant car?”
“Um, well, Keyblades are pretty big things, capable of vanquishing darkness and being able to open and lock worlds. I think they also grant incredible airborne abilities from flight, flying, to warping, and a bunch of other things.”
Pit scoffed. “Oh, sure. Like I haven’t done ANY of those things myself,” he said. “…Except the open and lock worlds part.”
“That’s my job,” giggled Palutena.
“And the similarities keep on piling up,” Viridi said.
“I’d mention more about Sora, but, uh, legal reasons dictate I shouldn’t,” Chris said, grimacing. “I could go on more detail about his enemies, but that kind of is a very long and hard story to get.”
“Try me,” dared Palutena.
“In off-screen land,” Chris grunted. “And I bet Pit would be so utterly confused if I were to say a tenth of it.”
“How much is a tenth?” Pit asked.
“…Battle tips?” Chris asked, exasperated, while the goddesses giggled (or laughed, in Viridi’s case).
“Oh, yeah! Give me the tips.”
“Sora is a fighter who likes fighting in midair, being quite adept at it. His fighting style revolves around bashing his Keyblade on his enemies, zipping around like lightning at times.”
Pit scoffed. “Sure doesn’t feel like SOMEONE is trying to take my job,” he said.
“He’s not. If he did, our company would be under the banner of another one, anyway,” Palutena said. “And then, I may just reconsider.”
“Yeah. WAIT, WH-?!”
“Sora not only can bash his weapon into his enemies, he can also use spells: Firaga, Blizzaga, and Thundaga. He cycles through each one when he uses one in the same order, giving him options to attack from long-range. Combined with all this, he can be a formidable fighter,” Chris interrupted.
“I feel like he’s getting praises but not any faults. Does he have any, other than my spiky hair being better than his?” Pit asked.
“Due to his floaty game, he’s pretty light and easy to launch,” Chris pointed out. “So if he’s ever caught in a skirmish, he’ll suffer. Wait for an opening to strike hard.”
“I wonder if Pit would like to be easier to push around in exchange of flying,” Viridi chimed in.
“I wouldn’t mind! Anything to fly by myself!” the angel said excitedly. He chuckled. “That doesn’t mean I like being pushed around.”
