That’s right. He’s back in blue. MegaMan is officially my main for ultimate.


This was actually a very serious decision since he was my main in 4 but his play style never clicked with me. I’m an offensive player maining a defensive character. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized how far I’ve come with MegaMan. I’ve practically made his awkward play style my own, I’ve invested hours upon hours into him for the past 4 years even when he was considered a bad character and now he’s the best that he’s ever been.

Unlike Smash 4 he’s balanced on all fronts. His edge guarding potential is still great, every single one of his aerials kill, Leaf Shield is an actual Shield now to help you maintain your zone of safety...MegaMan just has so much going for him in this game. I could go on for a long time.

I know this won’t be easy since I’m constantly going to have to fight my instincts and my opponents at time on top of MegaMan being a technical character. But just like MegaMan I’m an adapter. I named this montage “X” because I really feel like this is an evolution point for my MegaMan. If you don’t know, MegaMan X, the series that precedes Classic MegaMan was a robot created to be a direct upgrade to the MegaMan in Smash. He got his name “X” because in Math, X can represent anything. It becomes anything to solve the problem at hand.

That’s also why my tag in ultimate won’t be “Sahlos”, but “X”. I will shape my MegaMan into anything he needs to be to find competitive success in this game. Whether I succeed or fail in this game, I’m gonna do it with my favorite video game character of all time.
