Super Wolfy ♪ World: It’s on like Donkey Kong! (Super Mario Maker 2)
I'm pleased to present a full super world by Wolfy, the creator of the recently-showcased "♪ Metroid Dread—Cataris ♪" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TebqQgTgxZ4&t=14s ). Whereas that level combined looping music with puzzle/exploration elements inspired by the Metroid franchise, the majority of the 15 levels in Super Wolfy World are traditional platformers (with the notable exceptions of two optional auto-music levels and two 20-second speedruns); however, they often include subversive tech, concepts borrowed from retro games (e.g., The Legend of Zelda; Donkey Kong Country), and/or brief musical accompaniments, all of which serve to maintain (and reward) player engagement. Despite the eclectic nature of the levels in question, and the fact that they are all enjoyable to play individually, I was surprised by how cohesively they came together in the super world format. In particular, the three castles stand out for inventive, challenging design and unique boss encounters. Timestamps are below:
