Original Text: Since I'm on a #Wildstorm kick and today is not super free (no pun intended), I wanted to bring up a small but hilarious Superman reference today: "Clarks"
Alan Moore introduced the bar in #WildCATs and then it was featured heavily in #Stormwatch under @warrenellis 's run. Basically, "what if Superman retired and opened a local dive bar for superheroes"
You get that elder statesmen vibe of a guy who's been around for forever, but also can deal with any trouble that comes in. It's a very classic feeling bartender but scaled up and I can't help but love it, speaking as an ex-bartender and eternal barfly.
I just love the dang concept and I think it's a perfect example of the types of stories that Superman-type characters should be used for, even if it's just a background joke.
