We're beginning our 7th role-playing game on #SuperOldGameSaturday as our kick-off to our 2023 Halloween Block for October and, for this, we found a great subject that's also the debut of a new guest on the show. After having appeared in the chat for the past few years, Gemiknight96 is in studio to start our play of his favorite game of all time and THE cult-classic of the Super Nintendo, 1995's EarthBound. Shigesato Itoi's modern-styled second entry in the Mother series follows the adventures of Ness, a young psychic boy from the town of Onett in Eagleland who finds himself on a quest to stop the mysterious Giygas that, according to futuristic bee, is causing havoc in the world and influencing them in strange ways. Like all of our long form games, we're playing for at least 5 hours each part until we complete it and we're both going into everything we have on this great game with the best chat on Twitch by our side, including our memories of the game, a bit about its history, creators and a MYRIAD of nods to pop culture and music, some unique glitches and information about how the game works under the surface and also, some edited in parts of some incredible luck in getting some insanely rare item drops. For this part, we went to a group of towns, dealt with a gang at the local arcade, encountered a glee-obsessed cult and went to Stonehenge while meeting some new friends in Paula and Jeff. We had a great time beginning this game and I thank Gemiknight96 for joining us and leading us to start.
