After a month off from Lunar Silver Star Story Complete for PlayStation here on #SuperOldGameSaturday, we're back to this Game Arts/Working Designs role-playing game for Part 4 with Proterova, BloodSpiceMoon and myself. As I mentioned on recent shows, Nocturne is not on this part (whether she'll be on Part 5 on September 23rd remains to be seen) and, like Part 3, it's an art imitates life situation where, for every show where Luna has been out of the picture, we've been down a guest. Having said that, we still made some good progress this part, particularly by getting back our stolen Dragon Wings, finally getting a way to unlock the orange treasure chests that we've had to leave be until now and making some movement going on the story as Alex, Nash, Mia, Jessica and Kyle continue their quest to find the legendary dragons said to be the key to Alex fulfilling his apparent destiny to become the land's next Dragonmaster. As has always been the case, the discussions between us and the best chat on Twitch have helped drive our journey so far as, along with our adventures in the Red Dragon Cave, a town with hilariously off-key music, in the air on a hot air balloon and many more places, we got deeper into this game, its mechanics, more differences between versions and other topics, including perspectives on target demographics of RPGs, video game censorship, celebrations of Clancy Brown and Lisa Ortiz, the TV show, Get Smart, anime, movies, high fantasy, trading card games, 90s toys/media, reminding people what a beeper is and, as the title of this part suggests, the unique battles we each found ourselves fighting on this program, both from this and other games. We all had another great time on what was a mostly a bit of a breather from some of the more intensive parts we've had before (which also helped with the month we had to take off from this game) and we're all looking forward to our next part on September 23rd at 3 PM EST.
