I apologize for the slowdown in uploads to this channel, as I had some important personal and professional matters to focus on in recent weeks. I hope to return to normal very soon.

In the little free time I've had recently, I've been playing a lot of Metroid Planets, which is a fan game that lets you create and share rooms in the style of the original Metroid on NES, then procedurally generate entire Metroid worlds complete with custom maps and logic based on those user made rooms. It's easily the best Metroid fan game this side of AM2R. It also contains some amazing chiptune covers of songs from all five 2D Metroid games as well as Metroid Prime, many of which were done by the fantastic Loeder (check out his channel as well). From there I was inspired to pull out this cover from around 2017, where a young solar_espeon first learned that you could add a very unique synth feel to an NES song by having two channels play the same note but with one tuned flat just slightly. There's a pretty good chance I remake this cover someday, but for now enjoy the blast from the past.
