In celebration of PRIDE month, Sushant Divgikar discusses his journey, career, the history of drag in India and Asia and LGBTQIA+ empowerment.
Sushant Divgikar is a performing artiste, singer, equal rights champion and motivational speaker. His drag character Rani Ko-He-Nur is the bonafide superstar of the Indian drag scene and was the first drag artiste to appear on the singing reality show SA Re Ga Ma Pa on national television in India. Sushant has received multiple recognitions including the title of Mr. Gay World India 2014, GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians 0f 2018, Forbes’s 30 under 30 Achievers 2020 and a feature in Vogue India in 2019. He is also considered the face of the community and an inspiration to the youth and through his art he promotes inclusivity and love. Additionally, he stands for what he believes in and has demonstrated this through his work and support with the LGBTQ community on a national and global scale. He is also the Director South WestAsia at Mr. Gay World.
