Suzy Cube Demonstrative Review
13Suzy Cube is a 3D platformer in a style similar to Super Mario 3D World. What that means is you move and jump in a 3D environment with a fixed camera, platforms, enemies, and power-ups. There are three hidden stars in each level which you only need to collect if you want to play every level past the ending. You are given ample time to complete most levels and the remaining time you have left is added to your coins. Collecting 100 coins will earn you an extra life.
What I like:
+ The music sounds like it was made on an original Gameboy (and I like it!)
+ Different Hat power-ups let you take an extra hit and some give additional abilities.
+ The level designs and environments change up a lot over the course of each world and the entire game so it doesn't get boring.
+ Several checkpoints are placed throughout most levels so you don't have to go back too far when you die.
+ The character design is cute.
What I don't like:
- The same boss design is is the same for every world. You fight the same serpent, but with a new coat of paint and some different attacks. Could've used more variety.
- Some achievements are currently bugged and won't activate (getting all stars in the entire game for example).
Conclusion:
If you like Mario games (especially 3D World), I think you will like this as I did. It is a small but fine 3D platformer.
