SWAMP = SUCK | Worst Area in Every Souls Game
I'm basically ranting about my least favorite area.
I'm counting Bloodborne and Sekiro as souls games. Cry about it.
Here's the worst area in every Souls-borne-iro game.
Roast my picks down below. What are your least favorite areas.
Also some speculation on a possible swamp area in Elden Ring, and how much worse it could get with it being open world with a day-night cycle.

Script:
Dark Souls is easy.
That's right I said it.
It is what it is.
Here's the worst area in each soulsborne game.
Demon's Souls:
Prison of Hope.
Not any easier in the remake,
it's just super annoying to go through.
It's slightly a maze going both vertical and horizontal,
with enemies that can wreck you without much warning.
Without plenty of vitality, you're gonna have a bad time.
At least you can go level up somewhere else to make it easier.
Best case scenario is getting through it all in one go,
so you don't need to deal with it anymore.
Dark Souls:
The Catacombs.
Connected to firelink and available straight away.
Going here early is a death wish.
Skeletons, death pits, and backtracking.
Unless you have magic weapons, just run through it.
If you don't already know the way, you'll probably get stuck.
Cheecky patches messes with you too, so at least it's not all bad.
Have fun with the skele wheel, or like 5 of them.
Easiest boss with Pinwheel,
but Tomb of the Giants is after it and have fun with that without a light.
Dark Souls 2:
No Man's Wharf.
I haven't had a single playthrough not come to a standstill here.
Pushing through leads to more death, which is punishing in this game.
Hard hitting enemies, and plenty of dogs.
Also did I mention hard hitting enemies?
Pushing that bridge down gives me the biggest feels in any game.
But not good towards the game.
One of those finally moments, but not in an awesome way.
Just go level up somewhere first, it'll save you some headache.
Bloodborne:
Old Yharnam.
Thankfully optional, but it is good for blood echoes in the early game.
A bunch of the same enemies coming at you.
A guy on a minigun firing when he can see you.
Consistant crowd control is needed.
Early game enemy spam is one of the suckiest standards in souls games.
I was going to put Forbidden Woods,
but it was the obligatory swamp level, but with just the poison,
but too bad in my book, plenty of antidotes by that point.
Dark Souls 3:
Undead Settlement.
Really this is the worst of the hollow village beginning areas in the Souls games,
and I didn't want to fill the list with them either.
I really don't like this segment of the game.
Especially playing through multiple times,
it's just a bore.
Better to just rush through it.
We've had so many hollow village beginnings that it got stale,
and the only impression it left is "great, now I gotta do this part".
Sekiro:
Sunken Valley.
More specifically, the bridge segment when you have all the enemies shooting at you,
while you have no way to hurt them without getting close.
These enemies can almost one shot you,
and with at least 10 of them all shooting,
hits are probable if you aren't careful.
At least earlier in the area you get some practice fights with some of these types of enemies.
The worst one being the 3 on 1 with the cannon.
It hits hard.
Elden Ring:
The game hasn't come out yet.
But you already know there's going to be a swamp area,
and with it being open world, you know it's going to be big.
I'm guessing there's going to be either no horse,
or your horse is going to be slowed down.
Don't forget about poison and a harder night time.
Swamp areas are known for being sucky,
and I feel like this might end up being the most annoying one yet.
Also count this spot for every swamp area in all the games,
swamp = suck.
