Swampert's Diving Search (Revamped) - Pokémon TCG Live Online Matches #589
This week's Pokémon TCG Live Online Match is following in the suit of our previous video, in which I take one of my favorite decks from the 2016 Standard format and revamp it to fit with the new 2017 Standard format rotation. This time around, we'll be looking at my previous deck, called "Diving Taste", which featured Primal Clash's Swampert with the Diving Search Ability, which allows you to search your deck for a card, shuffle your deck, then place the chosen card on top. In the previous Standard format, this paired perfectly with Phantom Forces' Slurpuff, whose Tasting Ability then allowed you to draw the top card of your deck into your hand - essentially, allowing you to search your deck for any card you want and take that card once each turn (all before attacking!)
With Slurpuff rotated out of the 2017 Standard format, however, I've replaced it with Chandelure from Steam Siege, with the Sinister Selection Ability that lets you look at the top two cards of your deck, put one in your hand, then discard the other one. It's not quite as good as Slurpuff, since you'll be losing an extra card in the process, but you'll at least be able to draw that one particular card you selected with Diving Search. With these two Pokémon in play, the rest of the deck is open for whatever else you might want to include, so let's see if the deck I've assembled will stand up in the 2017 Standard format!
