The "classic NES" version GameBoy Advance SP was released in the United States in 2004. According to a video by Nintendrew this coincided with their re-release of 8-bit era Nintendo games for GBA, which matches up to my own memory of how and when I got this handheld. I hadn't been able to use it for years though. I thought this thing was DOA until I took it over to my friend Phil's workshop and he showed me that a simple battery swap would bring it back to life, so I want to share the knowledge with all of you as well! If you have an old GameBoy Advance SP (AGS-001 or AGS-101) that you know worked at one point but won't even turn on now, you might be able to restore it with a cheap lithium ion rechargeable battery. Just take the back cover off, pop the old one out, pop the new one in and Bob's your uncle! Subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan for new videos every evening at 8 PM ET, 7 Central.
