Why does society always assume dads are bad at parenting? Sure, I suppose some of that stereotype is earned because for a long time, dads wer kind of checked out of the parenting process until such time as a young man became a quarterback. Anyway, I was a stay-at-home dad for four years, supporting my wife as she worked, and also working on my masters degree. Anyway, people used to offer me jobs as a bag boy in the grocery store so I could "get back on my feet," and they would refer to my parenting as "babysitting." People would literally wonder what the hell I was doing when I would show up to the park in the middle of a weekday with my kids. I understand that we're waaaaaaaaay more dismissive of women when they try to take on more traditional male roles, but it still cuts the other way, even if one edge of the double-edged sword is much duller than the other. Am a winning at algorithm time, YouTube?
