I felt we handled things more confidently in this second part, considering we're playing on max difficulty. We move in, in an attempt to secure a Nova Core replacement. Vid timeline:

(0:00) Main Campaign: Running on Fumes.

Talk to the Outpost.
Expedition Mission.
In the Thicket: Destroy the Imp Hive.

We make contact with alien Kharl Zeon in his working place: the Shaletown Observatory. He seems distressed about his assistant seemingly going MIA. But we where able to explain our situation and get him to assist us with fuel. In exchange, we have to take out an Imp Hive.

(5:59) Main Campaign: Close Encounters of the Science Kind. The Hunt for Nova.

Open the Starmap.
Go to the Extractor.
Destroy the Extractor.

Problem was Kharl Zeon assumed we where in need of regular fuel. Thus when we said we needed Nova, that complicated things a bit. The Forgotten Legion's extractors are back online. So we need to take one out before actually getting what we need. Hopefully, that won't attract unwanted attention...

(18:28) Main Campaign: A lost Art.

Pluck the Extractor's core.
Deliver the core to the Shaletown Observatory.
Fuel up: Go to the Equinox.

Having destroyed the Extractor, we head back to the Observatory with the remains of it's Nova Core. Us and Kharl exchange now having a better understanding of the gravity of the situation involves Dr. Grant.

We then head back back to the Equinox and power up the Ship with the Nova now refined. But it's until enough to but the Equinox back in orbit.
