Part 3. I've played through the original on Gameboy and the remake on the Vita but I never knew there was another remake on the GBA. It's pretty cool how they adapted this version to be more in line with the other 2 SNES game. The graphics are solid and the sprite work is nice especially on the bosses. The music has some real boppers, I just wish it wasn't so compressed sounding. It's a typical complaint of the GBA. The story is cute and much more involved than the original, and that's great, but there is some truly genuinely poorly written dialogue. I don't know if it was a space constraint issue, but it definitely needed to be cleaned up more. Having to constantly go into the menu to swap weapons got pretty tedious after a while. It felt like I was swapping weapons way more than the other games in the Mana series. It reminded me a lot of Cystalis for the NES. There could be 3 enemies in a room and all of them were weak to something different 2 are physical and you have to cycle through your weapons and the last is magic and you have then cycle through all of your magic to find its weakness. It's a bit much. The enemies also infinitely respawn and that is not great and they respawn fairly quickly too. There are just some mechanics I was just not a huge fan of. There were even some things I just straight ignored, like the seeds and the forging. It's pretty involved and I didn't have patience for it. It would have required a lot of time to figure out what was going on for minimal gain. I did enjoy it, but it's not my favorite of the series. Enjoy my blind playthrough.
