[Swordcery] Swords Swords Swords & Magic & MORE SWORDS SWORDS - Kickstarter Demo Game - Ends Dec 17
Found Swordcery on Kickstarter and was interested by their appealing art style, then I saw all the swords, oh so many swords looked like a fun time. THEN I read that there is a demo to try and that the creators were animators who made triple A games like God of War. I was more than interested, see my first impressions on one of my first Rogue-like game.
Project ends around Dec 17

Viewer be sure to try the demo yourself to see if its the kind of game you like to support, understand the risks to back any kickstarter project and come to your own conclusions.
Personal conclusions: I certainly like the potential of the game and really like the art style the team is going for. From their extension goals to add more swords, I personally am interested in seeing more attack animation and possible to combo light and heavy attacks together. I personally am reminded of the PS2 "Orochi warrior" games that I played in the past that allows for attack combos base on how many light and heavy attacks and even timing the player press in order. That might give more depth in the game and skill. It seems there is already a wide variety of swords, having those swords more deep in combat if possible might be more interesting.
Questions - I have no solid judgements and only questions. Questioning if its normal in these games like Dark Souls where one can not animation cancel to roll and dodge? Cancel attack animation to block is another question, If this is normal then I need to get better at the game. If it is not, then maybe it is something the team can look in to, to refine the flow of combat.
