System apps showcase: Let's make a Mii in our 3DS emulator!
462What would the 3DS be without personalized Miis? And what better way of showing off some of Mikage's coolest features than to create our first Mii in this video!
Y'all know we've had the HOME Menu fully functional for a while now. This was just the beginning: We also support system applets like the Mii Selector and the Software Keyboard, which are smoothly integrated to the rest of the system and are started on-demand. Of course, proper system applications like the Mii Maker run fine too.
In total you can see 5 different applications emulated in this video, some of them even running simultaneously! Mikage has been able to emulate multiple processes almost from the get-go, but we've been waiting eagerly for a good opportunity to show it off well.
As a neat bonus, our recently added audio support now has stabilized enough to run all these applications with almost perfect audio. And optimization has advanced enough that there is no noticeable slowdown compared to emulating without sound!
